Guidelines for participating in the Lingonaut community

Welcome to the Lingonaut community! These bylaws establish the foundational values and guidelines that help us maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment for language learners worldwide.

1. Core Principles

Our community is built on these foundational values that every member is expected to uphold:

Treat Others with Respect

Members must unite across diverse language levels and cultural backgrounds, showing appreciation for different perspectives. Every interaction should reflect mutual respect and understanding, regardless of where someone is in their language learning journey.

Offer Help and Support for All Proficiency Levels

The community operates on mutual support. Members should respond with patience and kindness, avoiding mockery when others make errors. Remember that everyone starts somewhere, and constructive feedback helps learners grow.

Celebrate and Discuss Regional Language Variations

Linguistic diversity is encouraged and celebrated. Conversations about regional differences, dialects, and variations should maintain openness and positivity. There's no single "correct" way to speak a language.

Consider Your Privacy Before Sharing

Protect yourself and others by being mindful of the information you share. Think carefully before posting any personal details.

Privacy Warning

Never share sensitive data including phone numbers, ages, physical addresses, daily schedules, school or workplace names, email addresses, or any other identifying information that could compromise your safety or the safety of others.

2. Prohibited Content

The following activities and content are strictly prohibited within our community:

Targeting individuals or groups with harmful conduct

Scripts or cheating tools that damage the system

Inflammatory comments that hinder learning

Illegal content of any kind

Pornography or sexually explicit material

Excessive profanity or violent content

Spam or unsolicited advertising

Threats, harassment, or bullying

Racism, intolerance, or discrimination

Impersonation of other users or staff

Sharing confidential personal information

Any content that violates applicable laws

3. Enforcement

We take violations of these community bylaws seriously. Our moderation team actively monitors community spaces to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all members.

Verified violations will result in post removal and may lead to account deletion without warning. The severity of consequences will be determined based on the nature and frequency of violations.

If you witness any violations of these bylaws, please report them to our moderation team. Together, we can maintain a positive community where everyone can learn and grow.
