Hey everyone and welcome to the last WNWL for this year! I’ll try to keep it short so you can get back to celebrating:
New digs
Bye bye WordPress, our Aquarius! You served us well from 2023 to the very end of 2025, but we have now outgrown you and it’s time to move on.
You may have noticed that the new Lingonaut.app is live and is much faster, much cleaner and much less janky! The change has been something we’ve been putting off for a while but with the need of having a single unified Lingonaut account shared between iOS, Web, Android and forums meant that we couldn’t rely on the wordpress system anymore.
It was also getting confusing for people with having a separate forum and app account, which will now just be one going forward, the one you use to log into the app!
Furthermore, when the new forums go live (they rely on the web client going out first) the move will finally be complete! The new system allows us (and you!) to do so many cool things like:
- Showcase your stats and profile outside the app!
- Award each other Lingonite for good answers in sentence discussions and forums
- Shared sentence discussions across all different platforms
- Archiving and compiling interactive resources
- An easier way to send out early access keys and enable features
- A much more streamlined way to reach out to Translatonauts and Lingonauts instead of through Discord!
- Fully custom layout and design we can change as required…
As for that last point:
Meet the Crew, again!
We’ve completely redesigned the Meet the Crew page into an Interactive ‘Terminal’ like design as if you’re accessing the LSS Nautilus systems yourself! It’s something we’re really proud of and even if you’ve met the crew before, I think you should visit the new page, it looks really nice.

Android Alpha sign-ups open!
You may have gotten the notification last week but Android Alpha Sign-ups are open!
If you’re a patron please head to https://lingonaut.app/patreon and enter the email you use for patreon (so we can match it to your pledge) and we’ll be able to send out alpha keys when they’re ready.
And if you’re not already, now is the chance to pledge and secure a spot! Among early access you get a bunch of other great perks! It would be extremely appreciated and go towards keeping the project alive.
There’s also a waiting list at https://lingonaut.app/android-beta for non-patrons so you can secure your spot when the waves start rolling out for everyone else!
Just as a reminder:
Mercury/Venus Patrons get access ~02/03/2026
Earth and above Patrons get access ~02/01/2026 (if all goes well)
Everyone else gets access ~02/04/2026
If you want to find out about the rollout timeline more specifically you can visit below (Yes the url says beta but it’s just an alpha for now!)

iOS Polish
As the Android port is based off the iOS version we’ve been making incremental updates to parts of Lingonaut iOS before we port them over to Android so that both versions can stay in lockstep feature-wise and there are no ‘second-class’ platforms.
That being said some things will be exclusives to one or the other, but it’ll be things that make sense. For example:
Sign in with Apple
Sign in with Apple will obviously be an iOS and Web exclusive service.
Creatonaut Updates
We’re still trying to make things easier for our Translatonauts and have added a handful of new features to do that:
- New option to hide audio files in Project view
- Fixed writewords syntax across generator, extender, question editor, parser etc, insert new question, autofixer to use new syntax
- Fixed imagepick syntax across generator, extender, question editor, parser etc, insert new question, autofixer to use new syntax
- New search box for .nml file editor
- Issues can now be copied to clipboard/exported
- Added new flags feature to flag questions you want to come back to later to fix
Creatonaut is free for everyone, and can be found below:
Happy new year!
Thank you so much for supporting us this past year and I hope that with the early access we can show even a fraction of how thankful we are. Without your support Lingonaut wouldn’t have gotten this far.
We’ll be working through the holidays to get things ready as close to on time as we can so if you have any questions just ping us!
That’s all for this year! January is going to be very very busy and we can’t wait to show you what we have in store!
