What’s new With Lingonaut in June? and the OPEN Beta!

Welcome to the WNWL 2! A monthly wrap-up of all the things that have happened this month with The Lingonaut Project!

Wave 4 is out and the beta opens up!

After plenty of testing and re-testing along with continued development that meant we allowed access to the Translatonauts first; I’m proud to say that the Lingonaut is now open for everyone!

That’s not to say that we’re slowing down, big patches will continue to drop every few days that address bugs, unlock new features and add new languages. A revamped Czech and brand new Finnish course will be the first up!

We currently have 1000 slots available for everyone which will increase to 5000 and then finally uncapped once we’re comfortable that the infrastructure can handle it.

We’ve already had to upgrade our server hardware to handle all the new Lingonauts!

*Subject to change at any time depending on state of development.

One month and 16 builds later:

The number of installs can only be surpassed by the number of crashes! But do not be fooled by the number, people are helping us squash the bugs that appear before we launch fully for a perfect bug-free and polished experience.

Our friends with iPhone SE or iPhone 12/13 mini in particular will be pleasantly surprised by the fixes made to accommodate the smaller screen size!

Discord Shake-up and glow-up

If you’re a part of our Discord (and you should to get all the latest updates first and participate in the community!) you may have noticed a bit of a change courtesy of our resident discord-onauts Fyai & ChadGuru.

First of all we now have a server tag you can use to rep the Lingonaut project and help spread the word:

There’s a new Community category with channels for people to talk and share not just about languages but all sorts of fun topics or things they might be interested in, such as:

  • Pets
  • Art
  • Music
  • Studying
  • and more!

Drop by and say hi, we’re eager to have you here! 😁

Launchpad is blasting off!

Launchpad, our home for the Translatonaut teams and the courses they’re creating to help you learn is now taking its first steps and working on dozens of languages!

Our brand new Launchpad hub will be live soon too to replace the outdated launchpad web page so you’ll be able to get up to date, well, updates on our courses whenever they arrive!

Creatonaut 3 voices its surprise

Users of Creatonaut 3 may have noticed new changes rolling out every day or two, the latest and greatest of which is powered by ClearVoice! This means that Translatonauts recording audio for their courses will be able to record their voices in crisp and clear audio regardless of their equipment or background noise.

With the new enhanced audio and plethora of other changes we’ve made, Creatonaut 3 is more powerful than ever! I hope we can see its new capabilities shine through in the courses we’re making.

We’ve become more social

Through the hard work of our newly minted social media team we’ve created a presence on most well known social media platforms and we’d love for you to follow us there! It’l help us get the word out and keep the project alive.

Help keep Lingonaut alive!

Lastly, with the surge of traffic both to the Discord/Reddit but more so to the Lingonaut platform infrastructure and servers we could always use your help keeping The Lingonaut Project alive.

Every penny counts, though with the Mercury tier more of it goes to Patreon than us – I hear Venus is pretty nice this time of year, though 👀

And that’s all for this month, keep an eye out for all the updates!
