Hey Lingonauts! It took almost two years of hard work, and the support of so many team members and thousands of people cheering us on but we’ve got to the finish line.
Lingonaut is ready for its Beta.
We couldn’t have done it without the people I’m sure you’ve talked with or stumbled across in your time in our Discord or subreddit.
With that in mind I would like to thank our incredible Community Managers and Community Ambassadors for spreading the word, keeping the peace and answering questions when I have been unable to. I’d also like to thank our Patrons, it’s thanks to them that we can commit to being Ad-free, heart free and without having premium memberships.
Lastly I want to thank all of you, a combined 20,000+ across our subreddit, Discord and forum for sticking with us until now through all the delays, the touch-and-go situations, the enshittification of the other app and lastly my broken leg!
Lingonaut Release and Keys
We’ve submitted Lingonaut to Apple for auditing and eagerly await their decision (hopefully an approval!). This can take from a few hours to a few days. It is a Sunday but we’re hoping it won’t take more than a few hours regardless.
With any luck we’ve correctly followed their User interface guidelines, usability guidelines, app store guidelines and accessibility guidelines (that’s a lot of lines!) and they’ll let us start doling out invites.
For team members, and patrons eligible for Wave 1 (so Venus and up), once we have access to the external beta tester menu on Testflight, we’ll start sending out invite links via Patreon first, and then Discord for anyone who slipped through the net.
Some people have asked if there is an NDA in effect, the answer is no, feel free to share your experience and screenshots with whomever you like, just make sure you don’t share your password!
Finally, please remember that this beta test is for testing our servers and looking for bugs, if you find any, remember:
We’re going to need all the help we can get when it comes to getting all the bugs out! When you encounter a bug please fill out the following form:
And please make sure you fill out one form per bug, if you encounter 5 bugs in a session, fill out the form 5 times
Creatonaut 3
Creatonaut 3 is out! With:
- A revamped from the ground up user interface
- Easy multi-panel menu
- New recording tools for listening exercises
- Dark mode
- Far fewer bugs
- Support for more languages
- A new Automation system (not AI) that helps course creators build out exercises in minutes instead of weeks
You might notice that it looks a lot different from the previous screenshots, and that is because..
Surprise! CN3 is multiplatform – on every platform.
We have rebuilt Creatonaut from the ground up as a web app! This is much more similar to the way the incubator worked with the other app and has been something that’s been widely requested.
This means no needing to download, no needing to install, no complicated set-up or dealing with folder management or anything of the sort. It’ll work right out of the box in the browser of your choice! (We recommend a Chromium/Gecko based browser, like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Brave, Edge, Zen etc)
Like previous Creatonaut versions, you don’t have to be a contributor or team member to use Creatonaut – anyone can use it and try making courses or just experiment!
It has not been tested with Safari, and there are known issues with Arc browser.
When does it come out and how do you access it?
Creatonaut is out now at creatonaut.lingonaut.app !
Any modern device with a web browser should be able to access the new Creatonaut 3 at its new home.
We will soon begin writing up new and updated wiki entries to help get you started with CN3. You can also take a look at the screenshots of Creatonaut 3 below in case you can’t use it just yet!

That wraps things up for today’s blog post, I can’t wait to see you all on Lingonaut, finally learning instead of spending.
We’re just getting started.
