First of all, it’s great that new and different alternatives are emerging in the field of learning 😊, and that they are free.
I believe new languages will be added over time. Although my question is a bit more long-term, are you considering adding dead languages as well? For example, Latin?
From the FAQ on Discord:
Q: What languages will be avaialble at launch? How will you decide to add more languages?
A: For the full release we’ll have courses that have at least three contributors and at least four completed skills available, as they’re rapidly developed and extended.
So, for dead languages to be added, there would need to be enough volunteers. I’m hoping (but I’m not on the team, so it’s just hope) that we can side-load courses from the community, so anyone could theoretically create one.
@shiryou I hope it happens, but I’m confused by “[…] so anyone could theoretically create one.”
Isn’t there a problem if everyone creates lessons as they wish? For example, if 10 people create 10 different lessons for the same language (French, for instance), how can they handle that?

Yes, this would definitely be a problem. Currently, I think the focus is on creating one specific course per language, for languages with at least 3 contributors. Those will load when you select your language in the interface through Lingonaut’s service.
Side-loading community created courses could be an optional feature to allow people to create courses for slang without it needing to be an “official” course. It would be up to the community to decide on how to vet those courses and on the user to be careful.
I have no idea if this will ever happen. I just think it’s a good idea and could be very useful. On the other hand, it could be that almost no one would use it.
Yes, most of what I’ll say refers to things that will happen in the future XD
Does contributing mean helping to improve the course? Because I believe that if 3 people are supposed to teach a whole language, including grammar and all that, like a teacher would, it’s going to take quite a long time.
But of course, the days will pass quickly in the end, time will show us XD
