Hey, you can call me poppy!
I grew up speaking German, Czech and English and have taken part in a few translating competitions and jobs here and there. I’m currently trying to learn Japanese so I love the concept of lingonaut! I hope I will be able to be of some use with developing the app, it seems really cool!
Hallo! My name is DysfuncNoodle, and I am a native English and French speaker from Quebec, Canada. I am studying German in college, and I have previously learned Greek there. During the summer, I intend to improve my Russian, Mandarin, and, of course, German skills, as I hope to become a German teacher and study in Germany one day. I absolutely love anything having to do with languages and linguistics; I even started a languages and linguistics club at my college. I’m happy to contribute to Lingonauts in any way that I can.

@eugenio69, I’m also a big literature fan! Have you read “Shakespeare: The Invention of the Human” by Harold Bloom? It’s a really fascinating analysis. I only managed to read the first few chapters before I had to return it because my schedule’s been so busy, but I really loved reading it, and hope to get the chance to check it out again so I can finish it!ย
It’s all about how Shakespeare’s development of characters stood out above the other playwrights of his time, and why that is. It’s divided by plays, and from what I read, the Romeo & Juliet section is really interesting, as is the one on Hamlet.
(Also, I wish I could read Dumas in French, I should try it sometime–you can only improve if you stretch yourself!)
Whoops, I forgot to introduce myself! Hi, I’m Grace! College student, currently a rising sophomore in undergrad! I’m a native English speaker, and currently high B2/low C1 for French, which I took in High School. I’m very nerdy (see previous post about literature, lol) and unfortunately have turned myself into someone very good at English grammar after obsessively studying for the SAT from 8th grade to junior year of HS.ย
I’m a STEM major at a STEM school, but want to keep learning languages. I’m learning French, and trying to learn Welsh on Duolingo right now (see aforementioned nerdiness, I decided to learn because I wanted to pronounce stuff in the Prydain Chronicles correctly), I have friends from Iceland and Germany, and my family’s Italian so I’m interested in learning those languages as well.
ย
I’m super excited to try Lingonaut when it comes out! From what I can tell, it looks like an app I’d be happy to switch to when it comes out.
(Unfortunately, due to my current status of “broke college student” I’m unable to contribute to Patreon at the moment. Once I get my YouTube audiobook channel off the ground and my Patreon starts getting donors–which probably won’t be for a while 😕, I’d be happy to help out)
Hi! Iโm Maagi, a 33-yo guy from Finland. My native language is Finnish, Iโm at C2 level with English, at B1 in Swedish, and perhaps A1 in Russian. I have also studied Arabic (MSA) and French in the past, and dabble in Korean. I would love to learn Arabic and Korean again, but right now Iโm not sure if I possess the capability to learn a third and fourth type of writing, so those will have to wait.
Iโm studying in a University of Applied Sciences, I will be a Bachelor of Social Services once I graduate in December 2026. Iโm hoping to focus on working with immigrants, refugees et cetera, and for them, having a quality language learning app prior to them getting a place in integration courses is important.
Iโm here to help with a possible Finnish course. I also hope there will be a Russian course one day.
Saluton,
My name is Texas Mac. I grew up speaking Esperanto with my grandfather. I am kind of a native you would say. I have also spent a lot of time studying Esperanto, and am working with a team to start a Esperanto college in Texas (so many hurdles).
I look forward to volunteering here to build a great app.ย
Hello. I’m arthan from Japan.
I’m currently learning American English and was looking for a place where I could meet other learners.
I can’t wait for Lingonaut to get started in earnest!
I hope to have fun while learning and contribute to Lingonaut in the future.
Let’s do our best together!
Hey everyone, I’m binbang12. I’m super happy to be here and am excited to see what this app will become. I speak English and French, and am learning Spanish. I’m from Canada and I love the cold (Anything above 10C is too hot!).
Hey guys! I’m Juliette.

I look forward to trying Lingonaut when it comes out!
Hey y’all!
I’m interested in learning the truly bizarre languages of the world. My current focus is Arabic, but I’m also learning German and Traditional Mongolian. Aside from those, I also know some Toki Pona and Ithkuil 😅.
Also, I believe simplicity is underrated.
My name is Pablo and I am from the Basque Country, Spain. I speak Basque and Spanish natively, and I also have an advanced level of English. Now I’m studying Italian for fun

Heya i’m milu, i’m a language nerd and translator, french & english native speaker, i also speak (in descending order of fluency) italian, (modern) greek, spanish, german, and have some notions (partly via duoling) of turkish, chinese, arabic, russian, hindi.. and bits and bobs of other languages picked up on travels or transient geek-out binges.
i’d be happy to contribute to the french course which i am most qualified for, but would love to make myself useful in other languages, either as a tester (for those i don’t speak) or as a part of the team to the extent that i’m able (for, say, greek).
all that to say, i’m hyped and can’t wait to get started =)
the owl app scratched that itch for a good while, and i’m grateful for all i could learn over there but like all of us here i hate what it’s becoming.
(You’ve changed, Duo. I don’t know you anymore. You used to be fun, now all you care about is your money. And i’ve tried, i really have, but i can’t go on pretending forever. *stifles a sniffle*)
